NJ.com did a great feature on Bess Rogers! Check out an except below:
Bess Rogers opens for Ingrid Michaelson at Terminal 5 in Manhattan tomorrow night. This isn’t just something arranged by a record label throwing darts at a board — Michaelson and Rogers are part of a gang of enterprising young singer-songwriters who’ve used social media and a whole lot of elbow grease to carve out a little commercial space for pop songwriting that takes a few chances. They share the same (outstanding) drummer. Rogers has played guitar in Michaelson’s backing band. Other friends: Lelia Broussard, Ian Axel, April Smith, Cara Salimando, Allie Moss, producer Dan Romer, and New Jersey’s own Jenny Owen Youngs. If you’re not familiar with this crew, you should make like an action figure fan and collect them all. Even their artistic failures are intriguing, and there haven’t been too many failures.
