Daylight Down. It’s a name that is bright and optimistic but still has a little dark side. Born out of Houston’s crowded heavy music scene, this band was created with the goal of not to show everyone how fast they could play or how angry they were. What they wanted was to create soundscapes with heavy riffs people could get into, blossoming choruses that would remember and sing along to well after hearing them and ethereal parts that could change peoples’ moods from one song to the next. We present Exhibit A of Daylight Down; the sweeping and powerful new video for “Demon You Love.”

Fresh off the success of the self-titled EP, the band is gearing up to release their next full-length, titled Day One. They’ve gone to great lengths and worked countless hours to craft the exact sound they’re looking for. Comparisons range from Breaking Benjamin to Seether to Tool and beyond, but it’s immediately apparent that the band is striving to make their own mark. Coming from a Houston music scene that can be suffocating with its cliques and abundance of mediocre bands, it’s all that more important and impressive that Daylight Down have been able to carve out the sound they have.

The “Demon You Love” video is a heartracing, panic inducing thrill ride. The central focus of the video is a sharply dressed, yet disheveled individual making haste as he tries to escape his darkest demon: himself. It starts in the confines of an industrial elevator onto the streets outside. Everywhere he turns he is face to face with a sinister doppelgänger. A terrifying ride inside of a vintage Camaro SS brings him face to face one last time with his own demons with the outcome quite clear.

In between all of this the band is rocking out a brutally powerful set. The lighting and cinematography on each member is precise and carefully executed. As they move in and out of the orange backlighting and fog their silhouettes create a menacing presence announcing the authoritative presence we’ve come to expect from Daylight Down!

It’s very exciting for us to have the opportunity to work with the guys in Daylight Down to bring you this throbbing new clip. They’ve set us up with an abundance of goodies, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch and let us know what we can to get this video into your programming.
