THE DEAD DAISIES
“LOCK ‘N’ LOAD” FT. SLASH
July 16, 2013
Do you remember why you fell in love with rock and roll? Well, The Dead Daisies do, and while they feel that it’s all about the songs, but it’s also mostly about having fun. Consisting of a number of rock and roll alumni musicians, this powerful musical collective is a band of brothers that pump out power driven tunes and anthems. HIP Video Promo is pleased to present the newest video clip “Lock ‘N’ Load.”
That same old sense of mischief which has always lived at the heart of rock and roll is consistent with and within the music of The Dead Daisies, and it was inevitable that guitarist David Lowy (Mink/The Angels) and singer/songwriter Jon Stevens (INXS/Noiseworks) got together in the first place. Sharing the same interests in musical arrangements, the two finished the debut Dead Daisies album with producer John Fields in just two intensely creative weeks.
Hot on the heels of dates opening for Aerosmith in Australia and New Zealand, The Dead Daisies will be releasing self-titled debut album through Spitfire Music and Caroline on August 13th. An interesting crew— Alex Carapetis known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and Julian Casablancas, Richard Fortus of Guns ‘N’ Roses, Marco Mendoza from Thin Lizzy, and yet another alumni of Guns ‘N’ Roses, Dizzy Reed— will perform in The Dead Daisies alongside Lowy and Stevens during this year’s massive 25-date Rockstar Uproar Festival in the US and Canada throughout August and September.
Kicking off their upcoming tour, The Dead Daisies are introducing a new video clip for the title track, “Lock ‘N’ Load.” The single itself is known for not only being a true rock and roll anthem, but for also featuring the sultry guitar riffs of our favorite guitar hero, Slash. But what makes this video clip so interesting? Well, we, the viewers, get to choose our own ending. The interactive short film ends at a pivotal moment—which ending will you choose? Will the protagonist live, or die? After the choice is made, the viewer is witness to the adventurous story of a young modern-day teen and his gang of misfits reminiscent of the The Lost Boys, who ultimately finds himself surrounded by a tribe of native girls that will either let him live, or let him die. This ending is up to you!
With drive and determination, The Dead Daisies are a group of musicians that know how to follow a dream. Their upcoming tour and debut album fall hand in hand as this year’s most noteworthy performing and collaboration acts.
