Hello programming ladies and gentlemen. It’s Andy Gesner and the HIP staffers with the latest video from one of the coolest new rock bands around – The Gaslight Anthem. The Gaslight Anthem has been one of the biggest American rock and roll success stories in the recent years. The group’s first two releases have attained the band a tremendous fanbase, including Bruce Springsteen, who performed several of the band’s songs with them on stage!

Their latest record, American Slang, has been highly acclaimed by critics across the various media platforms including The New York Times to SPIN to Pitchfork. Most notably, Rolling Stone, who stated that “Gaslight’s first two records were soulful punk albums that brought recovering emo kids and middle-aged dads into the fold.American Slang arrives with serious advance buzz: The choruses are more sculpted, but the band’s tough-as-leather rush is as hard as ever, and [lead vocalist Brian] Fallon howls so hard, he sounds like he’s aiming to get a section of the Jersey Turnpike named after him.” The album has seen the top of the Billboard 200 and solidified The Gaslight Anthem as modern rock force to be reckoned with.

The band has been ever present over the last year, touring extensively worldwide behind this record, including all of the prestigious festivals like Bonnaroo Festival, Bamboozle, The Austin City Limits Music Festival, Southside Festival, Hurricane Festival, Hard Rock Calling, Rock Werchter, The Guernsey Festival of Performing Arts, A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, Reading and Leeds Festivals and Øyafestivalen. The band has also recently been gracing national television with their presence. Gaslight performed “Bring It On” on Letterman, showcasing the single live and in front of millions of viewers. The band also just stopped by Fuse’s hot new program Hoppus On Music, hosted by Mark of Blink 182.

“Bring It On” features the group’s signature sound at their finest. Heartfelt lyrics are interlaced with distorted guitar riffs, crunchy bass, and hard hitting drums in the signature punk meets Springsteen style the band is so famous for. The blue collared rockers at the center of this story and performance based video. As the band plays on in an abandoned factory floor, the clip chronicles the hardships of a young American couple that eventually falls apart completely. Pulling on the heartstrings is what Gaslight fans love about the band. They know these guys always stay true to their craft and write music based on real struggles of real people.

We are extremely proud to bring you this genuine American rock and roll offering from a band that has fully deserved all of their hard earned success. We know these guys will become an American classic someday and urge you to take part in shaping their history. Thanks again to the folks over at Side One Dummy for bringing this clip to our hands so that we can, in turn, make it available for your consideration.
