Isaboe was born with a musical impulse, coming from a line of musicians in the family. So composing and performing, was not by chance but a statistical inevitability. “Calling To You” is the first American single from her debut album Love Sun, which has been gaining traction on the internet for the past 18 months. The record is drenched with Isaboe’s love for storytelling, which she turned to again for the creation of the video. We trek with her at a running pace through a city-by-night, chasing clues that lead her to each destination. She races from location to location, a series of landmarks around the city, finding "random" items, catching a red herring, being jolted to remember vital information that will send her onwards... all plants by an unseen person who seems privy to her past. It's a fun ride, and we get a sense of satisfaction at the end when Isaboe gets to the final prize.

The song is laced with new wave violins over delayed piano riffs and driving drums. From a keen listen to the layers in “Calling To You,” it’s easy to notice a riveting psychedelic pop quality to the track, in the manner of The Lightning Seeds or Modern English. The vocals are a big part of what hooks the listener into Isaboe’s music, but you wont find any attention-seeking wailing or ultra embellishments here. Hers is a voice that resonates with a simplicity and easiness of the likes of Dido, sometimes even with a little Sade-esque quality at times, and with the accompaniment of harmonies, creates a Mae-style indie rock sound.
