Hello music video fanatics, it’s Andy Gesner and the HIP Video Promo crew delivering to you another must-see clip from a band we’re proud to champion! When we brought you the last video from The Ivy Walls for “Getaway Driver” the feedback we got included words like “gorgeous”, “stunning” and “cinematic” to name just a few. Well we are very happy to tell you that we are bringing that same attention to detail and professionalism with the new video for “All I Want”. Starring Chris Pine (Star TrekUnstoppable) and Robert Baker (Old SchoolGrey’s Anatomy) this action sequence wrapped in a slow motion drama is something that we firmly believe will leave you and your viewers wanting to give this a video much more than just one look. But first, a little bit about The Ivy Walls:

We’re not ones to make false statements about how good bands really are, but don’t think for a second that we wouldn’t put The Ivy Walls up at the top of our list of favorite artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Don’t believe us? On their new album Dirty Passionate Daydreaming, The Ivy Walls incorporated real reverb through the use of cambers, rooms and hallways to try to find those roomy sounds that all the great 80’s and 90’s new wave and showgaze bands would get. They sure had a lot of room to play with; they recorded Dirty Passionate Daydreaming at the legendary Henson Recording Studios, which has also played host to the “We Are The World” recording and video, Van Halen’s new album A Different Kind Of Truth just wrapped there, and everyone from The Rolling Stones to Justin Bieber have spent time there. The end result is a sonic treat the blends the genres of new wave, shoegaze, and post punk with a modern hint that invokes a musicianship that is second to none.

In the video for “All I Want” we see a sting operation unfolding before our eyes. But like we said, this isn’t a full blown action sequence (even though it was filmed with the same camera used to shoot the latest Spiderman film) with exploding cars and attacking aliens, but rather a dramatic tale of a cat and mouse hunt between the hunter (Robert Baker) and the hunted (Chris Pine). Wiretaps, binoculars, chases and hideouts all contribute to the story, and throwing in a subplot of a stunning romantic interest only ups the ante of “All I Want”. Shot in a style that is distinctly The Ivy Walls, we see washed out colors, slow motion scenes, dramatic scene changes and most importantly, the band performing with style and ease in a minimalist loft space. They also welcome Skydive Records labelmate Chrissy DePauw on guest vocals throughout the track, who fits in like a glove with the band.

After watching this clip you may be wondering to yourself how an independent band like The Ivy Walls can pull off such top notch videos, music and guest stars; well, to quote lead singer Jeff Yanero “Needless to say The Ivy Walls don’t have one favor left to call in here in Los Angeles”. Call it a hunch on our part, but we don’t think anyone would mind being a part of The Ivy Walls musical endeavors and it’s only a matter of time until they’re the ones being called in to lend their renowned talents to others. We’d love to hook you up with some copies of Dirty Passionate Daydreaming, so please don’t hesitate to be in touch to get your hands on some!
