Spokane-based Jerad Finck has transformed himself from a notable artist in the Pacific Northwest to a nationally charting songwriting machine with a slew of high-profile touring and live performances under his belt. His influences have always been artists such as The Beatles to One Republic, groups that were led by great singer-songwriters who create a much larger sound. This love of melody has delivered the new single for “Criminal,” an infectious power-pop ballad that hits all of the right notes, both literally and figuratively.
For “Criminal,” Finck teamed up with producer David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Christina Perri) to create an undeniably exceptional product as the title track to his new EP. Past accolades that have brought him to this point include peaking at #33 on the Adult Contemporary Chart, #42 in Hot AC and #25 on the Hot AC Indicator Chart with his previous album, Runaway. On top of that, he’s been on the road practically non-stop, opening for and/or touring with Daughtry, Christina Perri, Edwin McCain, DADA, Vertical Horizon, Parachute, One EskimO, Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Hires, Red Wanting Blue, Ron Pope, Cracker, Ingram Hill, Tony Lucca and many others. Performances on a multitude of morning TV shows have helped him hone his intimately unique performances. For his newest video, “Criminal,” Jerad takes the viewer on a journey deep into his soul and opens up in a very personal way.
“Criminal” is a beautiful clip that takes aim at the heart and lands a direct hit. It begins with Jerad sitting alone in an empty apartment with only a handful of moving boxes surrounding him. He uncovers a box of home movies and personal artifacts of a love lost. It’s clear that he is a man who has had his heart ripped out in the worst way possible, as each flashback only prompts him to destroy the memories one by one. What once were the happiest moments of their lives are now painful reminders of what happens when trust is shattered. After a short while, he’s had enough and makes his exit of the home they once shared. He leaves behind the boxes for his former love with a simple note of only a few words. Will she find the note and face her own demons? Check out the video to find out!
We’re all very excited to be working closely with Jerad and his team to bring you this beautiful new release and hope that you embrace his musical aesthetic as wholeheartedly as we have!
