“I love being able to do what I love and to inspire people who think that their dreams can’t come true.” That’s the vision of up-and-coming singer songwriter Kanisha K and it resonates well beyond her years. The Holland, Michigan native has embraced hit music from the past as well as the current music scene, forging a combination that allows her creative style to shine.
She has worked with some of the titans of the music industry such as Joe Vulpis (Lady Gaga, Lindsay Lohan, Richie Blackmore, Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Tom Coyne (Adele, Beyonce, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, Pink, Ariana Grande) and churned out a string of tracks that climbed the Billboard radio charts. The success of songs such as “Oh Damn Yeah,” ” Never Stopped Loving You” and “Bring Me Home” have all been early successes in her budding career, which has also grabbed her endorsements from Sennheiser, Mac Cosmetics, Forever 21 and Abercrombie & Fitch.
She has also crafted a name for herself in perennial market for holiday music. Re-imagining Christmas classics can be a tough business, but with her determination and talent, Kanisha takes on each song and gives it a spin unlike any other. This is why her newest offering for “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” is sure to be revisited every holiday season as a go-to choice for laid-back and widely accessible seasonal soundtracks! The video was shot and directed by legendary photographer, director Barry Elz with creative consulting by Carolyn Elz.
Everything about the “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” video is brilliantly timeless. Of course, Kanisha delivers this classic with a fresh, smooth, and jazzy rendition that transcends trends and eras. The video itself is performed in the spirit of the dark and smoky nightclubs of the jazz heyday. Alone on a darkened stage, Kanisha looks stunning as she delivers a flawless performance. The beauty of this environment is that all eyes are on the artist on stage. There could be 1000 people in the room, there could be 10. What matters is what is happening on stage. Thanks to her cool, calm, and collected demeanor Kanisha absolutely owns the room from beginning to end. The song will be spinning on Adult Contemporary radio this holiday season and already has been placed in Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Kohl’s Bloomingdales and Coach stores.
