While the best fashion is made in Italy, some of the best rock and indie can often be attributed to the UK. Whether it’s the lack of sunshine or the looming government structure, British bands always had that certain something that made them completely irresistible to folks from the States. Programming brothers and sisters, it’s Andy Gesner and the HIP Video Promo crew here with one undeniably flawless guitar driven trio from the Steve Aoiki led team at Dim Mak records – New Ivory. With equal parts hooks and edge, “Something You Should Know” is exactly what’s in the name.

New Ivory have already established themselves as prominent up and comers in Europe, having completed several treks across the Eurozone and the United States with the release of their first EP,Arrows and Signs, including dates with 30 Seconds to Mars, You and Me at Six, and Wombats. This allowed the group to get discovered by Steve Aoki and Dim Mak Records. The group was also praised by blog sites like Indie Is Not A Genre and The Stark LifeIndie Is Not A Genre especially raves about the band’s ability to deliver promised rock hooks, claiming that “while there seems to be a constant neglect for guitar music in the British and European music scene, every now and then a decent rock band surfaces who still know how to play.” With New Ivory, you have the chance to give this much deserving young group the stateside history and buzz that their clever songwriting deserves.

“Something You Should Know” leads the way for New Ivory’s full length debut, which will be hitting the marketplace later this year. The band has just recently hit the studio with producer Maurizio Baggio and had the album mixed by Joe Marlett (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Blink 182) to deliver the loud impact of big guitar rock within their arsenal of sounds. While the boys are indie at heart, New Ivory delivers the loudest bang on this side of the Gallagher brothers’ Oasis, with a massive vocal hooks and dirty guitar riffs and solos. With Brit rockers like The Artic Monkeys and The Subways making a big splash in the States, New Ivory have both the glam and the brawn to sweep listeners off their feet from coast to coast. These London blokes are not only fully polished in their sound, but have the image necessary for stardom. The video finds New Ivory performing in the midst of a gorgeous urban sunset, as singer Mickey dons a pair of Lennonesque shades and commands a presence usually reserved for more seasoned rockers.

New Ivory is from remote parts unknown to the soul, from past to present sounds of distorted countenance-reflected from thoughts and emotion. They are the London calling for your playlists to answer this fall, so don’t be shy to give in to their infectious vibes. The keen folks at Dim Mak have a sense of what’s going to shake the country in the coming year, and New Ivory is one of those things. We have some cool New Ivory stuff available for you to get your hands on, so reach out for any requests.
