THE NEW OFFICIALS MUSIC
“IN A DAY”
August 18, 2015
The New Officials, from southern California, combine a musical pedigree with a tireless youthful exuberance to push themselves and their music to new highs, with an arena-ready pop-rock sound that they describe as “anthemic, fun, inspiring, and US!” Their kinship and synergy is apparent on their new EP, The Last Days Of Freedom, specifically the soaring new single “In A Day.”
The New Officials consists of siblings Michael Lerios (guitar, lead vocals) and Demitri Lerios (drums, lead vocals) along with Gaby Symons (lead vocals). The Lerios brothers are the sons of Cory Lerios from the classic rock group Pablo Cruise. They bring their genetic knack for pop songwriting to the table, and combined with the vocal talents and charm of Symons they craft songs that show more maturity and skill than those written by artists many years their seniors. It’s contemporary and adventurous, all the while feeling classic and familiar. On their new single, “In A Day,” Demitri steps up to take the lead vocals on the song penned by him and his brother and they collectively deliver a pop punch for the ages.
The video for “In A Day” is a snapshot into the daily life of The New Officials. Literally. The video is a collaboration of polaroid pictures flung into frame one at a time showing the band in the studio, rehearsing, and doing one of the favorite past times of bands everywhere; hanging out. For a band that relies on their kinship and bond between them, the social camaraderie is an important element, and one that merely enhances the creative process. In order to make sure the viewer is singing along to this insanely catchy hook the polaroids are scribbled with the song lyrics in sync with the song. There’s no doubt viewers will be humming along long after the video ends.
It’s very exciting for us to be working with The New Officials to bring you this exceptional new video and to bring them onto the national storage.
