Natalie Paige Bentley has been directing feature films and making music simultaneously for the last couple of years and has achieved major early recognition and success. Her first film, written, directed and produced by Natalie herself, "Butterfly Angels," became a festival circuit success, screening in Sydney Australia, London, Orlando, Florida, Toronto, and NYC for multiple festivals. Natalie, who also starred in the film, was nominated for Best Actress from IFCT and Best Short Film, along with winning an award from NYIIFF for Independent Achievement. “Red Pens (Mace)” is Trillium Vein’s second single and the newest song from the album After Life. While only unveiled a couple of weeks ago, the clip has achieved major immediate internet recognition, clocking in close to 200,000 views on YouTube alone. This is quite a feat for any video, let alone a newly formed music group! Bentley is quickly gaining speed without a second to waste, which speaks volumes of her astounding work ethic. With her massive talent and restless attitude, Trillium Vein and Natalie Paige Bentley should become frequently heard names buzzing in the near future.

Don't let the innocently sprite pink hair fool you, Trillium Vein channels the dark and dirty soundscape of metal and hard rock in “Red Pens (Mace)” without forgetting all the right melodic tricks. Bentley’s voice on this track is gritty and dirty with distortion, just like her massive wall of guitars. While she sings, “These red Pens will bleed you dry,” you will already have been completely conquered by her heavy blanket of sound and mastodon sized riffs. The video is set in a fittingly dark locale. Natalie is the wicked and brooding witch of a remote location, from which she lures the town’s children into her grasp. From her lair, she casts her evil spells, completely paralyzing those foolish enough to come across her. However, what makes Bentley so irresistible aren’t her spells, but her beauty, which will cause any viewer to immediately surrender their heart. Being a creative filmmaker, Natalie does not let her monstrous character get off Scott-free. The townspeople quickly catch up to the dark deeds going on in the woods and come to kill our lovely pink haired villain in front of our eyes. While at first it seems as though they succeed, we are allowed to see that the witch is immortal and there is hope for more epic riffs and awe-inspiring songs waiting ahead.
