VERONIKA traveled the world since an early age, her life path is a real fight for everything she stands for. Ukraine, Israel, Italy, France – her tough life experience and worldview has helped shape her unique musical style, one that has all of the familiarity and accessibility of a good pop song, but with the production value of something much more industrial and heavy. Here at HIP Video Promo we are incredibly excited to bring you her brand new video for “Camera.”
To understand “Camera,” we need to take a few steps back and talk about her first video for “Ain’t Russian Doll.” That video scored over 2 million views and was a perfectly choreographed piece that showed off some incredible ballerina skills while also delivering a blunt message. According to VERONIKA the song is a statement about gender discrimination, stating “I was so tired of the intolerance and prejudice from people who think they have a right to call any blonde Slavic girl a bitch.” She strikes a fine balance between beautiful art and social awareness, an impressive combination on full display in the new video for “Camera,”
The “Camera” video is coated in a dark sense of mystery. VERONIKA slinks and slithers in front of the camera, performing with a passion an intensity that is a thing of beauty. She is side by side with her own personal cameraman, pulling out all the stops to “be a star.” But the video isn’t just a vanity play, it also incorporates scenes of global conflicts and the clash of cultures and religions afflicting the world. A giant heart smashes the symbolisms of difference in an attempt to remind us all that the strongest conviction and belief we can have is the one of love and acceptance.
“Camera” was released on VEVO and will be screened during the Radio KSCR festival in Los Angeles on August 29th. VERONIKA will be attending the Pensado Awards on August 30th in Los Angeles, so any west coast folks out there can feel free to hit us up and get some time to meet VERONIKA! Of course, we encourage everyone to get in touch with us to find out more about VERONIKA and to let us know if you’d like to get this video into your programming.
