After nine years of championing over 850 videos by the best independent artists and bands on the planet, HIP Video Promo has become the country's leader in music video promotion. More than any time in the past, it's clear that a music video must accompany any band or artist’s new music release, and has become an integral part of any marketing plan. After all the time, money and effort of producing a compelling music video, you need to consider how to connect with as many eyeballs as possible. HIP has helped dozens of independent labels, bands, and artists secure the exposure they want and deserve. Having HIP as your video promotion team leaves you the time to attend to the bigger picture of the overall marketing campaign, and assures you the video will be presented in a professional way and arrive to all the appropriate destinations in a timely fashion. To take a look at many of the videos HIP Video has promoted, you can visit our YouTube page or have a look at our complete client list. We encourage you to read more about the bands we promote, and get in touch with us to find out more about the services we provide.
HIP Video Promo has built the most impressive client roster in the industry, promoting videos by such epic talents as Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, and "Weird Al" Yankovic, as well being on the ground floor with artists like Death Cab For Cutie, The Kooks, Bloc Party, The Shins, and of Montreal. We haven’t forgotten our roots, though, and new or up-and-coming bands and artists get the same HIP combination of unmatched expertise, unique experience and untrammeled enthusiasm as the superstars. HIP has established and maintained a solid, ever-growing network of contacts throughout the music video programming world; we are continually updating the most comprehensive database of music video outlets, which cuts across all stylistic and geographic borders. Our constant goal is to supply our programmers with the videos their viewers really want to see. So contact us to learn more about how HIP Video Promo can help: we can assist artists by getting their videos to all the programmers who can give them serious consideration that leads to actual broadcasting, while helping programmers by alerting them of talent from locations far and wide that might otherwise have remained beneath their radar.
Never before has there been more talk about technology, and how music videos have benefited from this societal tsunami. This same technological explosion has made the music video programming world exponentially more complex and chaotic than it has ever been before - it's the wild, wild west out there, and the number of music video outlets is constantly growing. At HIP Video Promo, we are your guides through this treacherous terrain, and take care of all of the headaches associated with servicing a video (dubbing, tapestock, submission forms, postage, etc.). We are here to make it as easy as possible for you to achieve maximum exposure for your music video. HIP has extensive experience with hundreds of success stories of championing the poor, huddled indie rock masses yearning to be seen and heard. We are fearless when it comes to promoting cliché-defying artists outside the mainstream, while always remaining selective in the projects we promote.
When CVC Report, the CMJ of the music video world, ceased publication at the end of 2003, it became very difficult for labels and artists to track airplay for their high profile music videos. Not for HIP’s clients, though. We reacted by stepping up our efforts to stay in continuous touch with programmers throughout the country. As a result of that effort, we are able to provide detailed airplay reports to the client for every video we promote. We also go the extra mile for the programmers, metaphorically by setting up interviews, video IDs, and ticket giveaways; and literally, in the form of Andy’s annual HIP Video Promo tour to personally catch up with programmers from coast to coast and assure they are being supplied with all they need to properly expose your artist.
Since HIP Video Promo has been on the music video playing field for so long, we know the programmers personally and have enough experience to steer clear of the pitfalls. What sort of pitfalls are these? Professional duplication of your video in the right numbers and specific tape formats (Beta SP, Mini DV, DVCam, etc.) required for various outlets, closed captioning where needed, proper completion of required submission forms, and many others. Another potential pitfall is a programmer receiving a video with little or no further information. HIP super-sizes every video campaign with an originally written video promotion one sheet that accompanies each video submission. Click on any of the artists on the left side of this page to see examples of our pitches to programmers. As your "lawyer", walking into the courtroom of indie-rock musical opinion, we've done our research and are prepared to present your case eloquently and zealously without recourse to empty hype or false accolades.
We make it easy for you: send us the master of the video and e-mail us the lyrics and we'll take care of all of the details. Our goal is to create the enviable and often times elusive state of buzz that all artists and bands covet.
