of Montreal just made an interesting turn in their careers–they’re singing for the kiddies. The band is appearing on Yo Gabba Gabba, a kids show designed to get its target audience to start singing and dancing in front of the TV. The show tries to give its audience practical advice on how to live daily life–such as brushing your teeth every morning. Important stuff. of Montreal’s song is called “Brush, Brush Brush,” and has the Beatles-esque harmonies and wacky keyboarding that has become a signature of of Montreal’s sound. Have a listen.
The show features a bunch of brightly-colored characters that look like they came straight from an of Montreal music video, so I think the band will fit right in.
Oh, and by the way, Yo Gabba Gabba’s really garnering up its indie cred. They’ve also enlisted The Roots as guests, The Ting Tings, Mates of State and MGMT, among others.
