Would you show up to a gig with a busted face immediately after getting hit by a car on her bike? Or climb on top of a DJ booth in the narrow space between ceiling and booth so that you could get closer to your audience? Probably not, but Miss Eaves has done it. This fierce, tough as nails femcee leaves nothing to chance and seizes every opportunity to get her sound of unique electro-pop-rap feminist stylings in front of a larger audience. Appropriately enough, her new single and video is titled “TNT” and is primed to tear your ears apart! Forgive the obvious pun, but it really is explosive.

Miss Eaves was born and raised in the quiet burbs of North Carolina where started as a scrappy kid making jewelry out of cereal boxes in her living room with artistic dreams in her destiny. Fast forward to present day Brooklyn, after a stint in design school, and this fierce MC is a designer so passionate that she named even her band after her favorite font, Mrs. Eaves. Though this Southern femcee once swore she would never end up in the city of relentless neon lights, invasive skyscrapers and broken dreams, she eventually found herself calling Bedstuy, Brooklyn both home and muse. With her tongue-in-cheek rhymes in tow, Miss Eaves performed in the US and abroad, including the music festivals Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld and Dour and Les Rockomotive, sharing stages with Crookers, Riff Raff, Diplo, Miss Kittin, Chuck Inglish & Cashmere Cat.  Most recently, she toured with Wheatus and MC Frontalot around the UK. She’s turning convention on its head, and making no apologies about it.

For the “TNT” video, Eaves uses a tried and true formula for making her point. Lots and lots of skin. At first, it may seem like a gratuitous amount of shirtless, underwear clad males being tranced out in front of the camera, but in reality the message is much deeper and scathing. It’s a representation of the overt sexualization and objectification that exists in the music industry today. And it sucks! It’s a clever delivery, since although many wouldn’t bat an eye seeing a female being clad in a bikini or overly revealing outfit, when it’s men playing the role, an audience will probably second guess. They seductively eat fruit, cook, clean, read feminist literature, and just in case the message hasn’t been completely hammered home yet, she feeds one man a dog biscuit for good measure! This double standard has been dragged into the spotlight with “TNT” and it’s not pretty!

We are very stoked to be working with a trailblazing artist like Miss Eaves and her killer new video for “TNT.” We are here to do anything we can to get this into your programming so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
