Roger Shah a.k.a. Sunlounger & JES are no strangers when it comes to writing classics. Both have penned their fair share of landmark tunes so it should come as no surprise that when they get together the outcome is truly stellar. “Glitter and Gold” pushes their liaison further, picking up where their 2012 collaboration “Higher Than The Sun” left off. Lifted from Sunlounger’s 2013 chill out “Balearic Beauty” album, “Glitter And Gold” gets a full compliment of top shelf remixes to take it from the terrace to the dance floor.
     
Roger Shah’s rework layers mystical synths and strings in an impassioned progressive trance remix that will satisfy any big room. Pedro Del Mar & Beatsole take a more traditional trance approach with a hard driving beat and haunting piano melodies that perfectly compliment JES’ sultry vocals and give way to a beautiful anthemic string plateau. Denis Sender’s remix fuses a tight groove and arrangement with touching vocal drops and dynamic string builds that make it the perfect transition from warm up sets to peak time. Antillas and Dankann’s colossal evolving masterpiece is a drama filled roller coaster that pairs passionate vocals with a contrasting soundscape that never misses its target. 
     
For the video it was a natural idea to incorporate a sense of vintage class that serves as a celebration of the glamour of the golden era of hollywood. JES and Sunlounger perform in a darkened room, sporting outfits that make it appear as though they were transported straight out of a jazz club from the early 20th century. Interspersed amongst their performance is a nostalgic collection of vintage black and white footage of old films and roaring dance numbers complete with big bands, tuxedos and ballroom gowns, and an excitement for life that can’t be topped. The color palette is deliberately minimal and subdued so when the glitter and gold adoring JES and Sunlounger’s outfits catch our eye with just the right amount of glitz and glamour to compliment this devastatingly beautiful song.
