Nic Neufeld is beginning his ascent to “teen heartthrob” status a bit early. At the moment, he’s only 12-years-old. But he’s got a great look and a voice to match, and he’s already been singing his way into the hearts of starry-eyed girls across his native Canada and into the USA. HIP Video Promo is pleased to introduce the clip for his second single, “Hearts and Sleeves.”

As young as he is, Neufeld’s dream to become a singer began way back at age three, performing on his bunk bed with toy instruments for family and friends. By four years of age, he was already taking guitar and piano lessons. By grade five, a solo in his school’s Christmas pageant sealed the deal: he knew he was meant for the stage. Shortly thereafter, he began formal training with the Pure Artists Academy, nurturing his talents and performing for charity. Just last year, a career opportunity led him to Hollywood, and it’s been an exciting ride ever since. He’s recorded with the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling Jackie Boyz and Disney star Adam Hicks, and he’s now in training with Gary Catona–Voice Builder of the Stars–who’s worked with the likes of Usher, Katy Perry, Lorde, and the late, great Whitney Houston. Neufeld has already released a video for his first single “I’ll Be Yours”, and “Hearts and Sleeves” promises to introduce his talents to an even greater audience.

With a playful melody hearkening back to the days of NKOTB, Neufeld delivers an honest and earnest proposal to the misunderstood girl of his affection: “Baby, baby, baby / I’ll give you what you’re missin’ / ‘cuz they don’t understand a girl like you.” In the colorful clip, Neufeld walks a modern urban landscape, singing his song to a variety of pre-teen cuties (at one point, an entire bleacher full!), and adorning his limited edition “Hearts and Sleeves” stickers to street signs, sculptures, and the actual sleeves of actual girls. All the while, Neufeld’s confident and exuberant performance energizes each and every frame.
