A rare, unique, and stylish artist roams the streets of LA, singing songs that capture the likes of music listeners everywhere — AG. Also known by her given name, Adrianne Gonzalez, she strings influence and stylistic demeanor behind her, leaving a trail of magical poetry everywhere she goes. With the breakthrough of her emerging solo career, AG presents us with a haunting cover of The Beatles’ song “I Wanna Be Your Man” in her debut video.

The act of taking risks is a well-known hobby for this singer/songwriter, and this characteristic is apparent in her awe-inspiring musical releases. Often compared to contemporary female artists such as Feist and Metric’s Emily Haines, AG has managed to create a sound that is her own. With the experience of having eight produced albums under her belt, AG has performed with well known artists such as Tegan and Sara, Jeff Buckley, and Bonnie Raitt. After gaining a strong following in the LA music scene, she found her music featured on television shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Ghost Whisperer, and One Tree Hill. After such experience, she put her solo career on hold and dove into the super group known as The Rescues with band mates Rob Giles, Kyler England, and Gabriel Mann. Signed to Universal Records, the band released the critically acclaimed album Let Loose the Horses and toured nationally.

After wrapping the tour with The Rescues, AG returned to focusing on her solo music and released Me After You, which was a genuine and immensely personal effort that struck a chord with listeners everywhere. In what she describes as the hardest thing she’s ever done as an artist, her publishing company landed the rights to the only six Beatles’ songs not owned by Sony, and the opportunity to make the songs her own while keeping the essence of Lennon and McCartney’s intact was simply too intriguing for AG to resist. As it is known, this year, 2012, marks the fiftieth anniversary of the formation of The Beatles. Presently, AG’s covers EP titled The Beatles is sure to excite and inspire music listeners, and it begins with her passionate video for “I Wanna Be Your Man.

As an out lesbian who is passionate about the rights of transgender and gay communities, AG lays everything on the line in “I Wanna Be Your Man.” AG sits comfortably in a chair in the video, and we watch as she undresses, taking off her make-up, changing her hair, and even sporting a moustache. Her voice is raw and there is no denying the 80s’ music influence in her gritty, sexy voice. The haunting, yet soothing melodic structure of the vocals is sure to lure music fans in to the rightful appreciation of what AG deserves. Her ability to stand up and prove that true love knows no boundaries is truly breathtaking and honorable, and “I Wanna Be Your Man” is an ode to The Beatles and to the pivotal, yet contemporary moments of society’s breakthroughs of today.

AG’s music inspires us and as music fans, we will watch as it continues to grow. Her EP The Beatles will be released on John Lennon’s birthday, October 9th, and we would love to hook you up with a copy.
