When Matt Padlo introduces his debut single “Man Of Steel” in early 2015 audiences will get their first glimpse of a California artist who has mixed up a diverse range of influences that dips a toe into the pools of metal, hip hop, and even a pop sensibility. There’s a widespread appeal to his sound, and a universal appreciation for his message.

As a one man act who writes, performs, and records all of his own material, his personal influences rise to the surface. He spits out fast paced lines over the top of blistering metal licks. There’s also a chorus that finds Padlo flexing his vocal chops over a piano line that softens the edges. Within the complex instrumentation and ambitious production is a song about determination and drive. The Superman reference is appropriate since Matt Padlo himself is a man who may appear to be an ordinary individual on the outside but just below the outer layer is a strength that can be summoned in times of difficulty to rise above adversity and hardship.

The video, another creation solely of Matt’s hard work and vision, opens with a hypothetical question for us to all ask ourselves. “Are you the best possible version of yourself that is possible?” He plays multiple roles in the video, both on a performance and a narrative level. It’s a variety of menacing shots of industrial imagery, darkened nighttime streets, and performance footage. A few camera tricks here and there and the visual of Matt jamming with his himself comes to life. We should all be so fortunate to discover as many layers of drive and determination as Matt Padlo, and this video is a well-rounded look at an artist who is putting his money where his mouth is and being the best that he could be.

We’re very proud to be working such a talented and diverse artist like Matt Padlo and we are certain you will dig this video as much as we have!
