Look out your window right now. What do you see? Most likely a cold winter landscape with grey clouds and snow covering most of the country. However, in Sydney, Australia, it is currently topping out at 80 degrees and the sun is shining bright. This is the vibe that we all need, and thankfully Nick de la Hoyde has returned with his new video, “Changing,” which brings these sunny and warm feelings to your screens.

Following on the growth of his previous videos for “The Longest Way” and the mtvU Freshmen winning “By My Side,” Nick continues to show the maturity and poise of someone much older than his 22 years. This singer/songwriter/rapper mends sounds of hip hop, pop, RnB and spoken word, together with introspective lyrics that read like personal journal entries.

“Changing” represents the 1st single from a batch of new music that will see multiple releases for Nick in 2016. It is a fresh, upbeat pop statement featuring an infectious groove, bouncing synths and playful lyrics, something that Nick’s music and brand have become renowned for. He’s seen love on the radio (2DayFm, Nova, FoxFM, Hot Tomato, Hit107, Hit105, Hit92.9), social media (155k+ Instagram), press (The Source, Pop Scoop, Essentially Pop, The Examiner, All Access Magazine) and increasingly in his live performances, where he’s taken to busking in Sydney to give his music a personal connection with new fans. The single has also been climbing up to #33 on Billboard BDS Top 40 Indicator in the USA this week!

“Changing” is Nick’s most ambitious and artistically exceptional clip yet. The cinematography is shot to perfection with a gorgeous quality that finds the perfect look for every scene. When Nick and his crew are chilling around town on a rainy day the saturation is pulled down, when they’re hanging on the beach it’s vibrant and potent. In the shots of them inside a small motel room a few strategically placed colored lights create a slick atmosphere. No matter what the environment the emphasis of the video is all about Nick and his friends. Sure, changes in life are inevitable but the bonds that these fellas forge and the memories they create in their formative years are ones that will surely stand the test of time. It’s a gorgeous clip that will bring a ray of light to even the gloomiest winter day.

We’re all incredibly excited to be working with Nick de la Hoyde and the Gatcombe crew once again to bring you another outstanding clip from the Harbour City.
