October 12, 2011When Jim Lindberg left Pennywise after twenty years of service at the helm to the punk rock community, no one expected this kind of a comeback. The Black Pacific comes at your face like a freight train, all brakes cut. The ferocity of this release has got the entire punk community up and at it, with a universal and unanimous “hell yeah!” Alternative Press has given the album 4 out of 5 stars raving that the record is “the most impressive [Lindberg] has done in years.” The band also recently graced the cover of AMP Magazine. The Black Pacific has been appraised by numerous outlets in the music community including AbsolutePunk, Rock Sound, PunkNews, Ultimate Guitar, KROQ, Alter The Press and many more. The band has made a big splash at The Warped Tour this summer and is now out on a headlining run before joining up with Rise Against and Flogging Molly.
If you’ve ever moshed or skated to Pennywise, “Living With Ghosts” will not disappoint, featuring driving drums along with all the chugging and riffing that you’ve come to expect from your favorite punk rock bands. The song offers up more whoa’s to keep any true skate punk happy and satisfied. It could even be said that The Black Pacific a more varied track list than any Pennywise record.
