Alex Cuba wins the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album!

Team HIP has had the pleasure of spending over a decade working with Alex Cuba. This Cuban-Canadian pop artist is best known for his fresh and new music that has maintained the same simple and soulful Latin qualities fans and followers love despite its noticeable evolution over the years. 

His most recent album, Mendó, was widely well-received by these audiences, as it landed Alex his first Grammy on April 3! Considering Mendó was a full-circle release, loosely translating to “substance of the soul,” it seemed fitting that this be the one to put him on top, winning the Best Latin Pop Album award.

Mendó was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, which provided a spark of creativity and enlightenment for many skilled musicians. However, we were confident such accolades and awards were coming to Alex in due time, considering his nominations in 2018, 2016, and 2011. He has also won multiple Latin Grammys and Juno awards throughout his singer-songwriter career. 

One of these Latin Grammy wins was for “Are You” in 2013, the single that sparked HIP’s beginnings and long-lasting relationship with Alex in 2012 as a budding rising star with an overflow of potential. Most recently, in 2018, we promoted his “Piedad de Mi” music video. Reflecting on his early career and achievements earned time after time, it is safe to say that Alex has made the most of every opportunity and earned every accomplishment his talent has allowed. 

With that, we wanted to send Alex the warmest congratulations for this outstanding achievement! We are looking forward to seeing what else he has in store for us next.
