In a world inundated with rock bands fighting to be noticed, The Trophy Fire unquestionably deserves your undivided attention. Since dropping their critically acclaimed third album, Directions For Daylight, earlier this year, the San Francisco -based power trio have garnered a tremendous amount of much-deserved attention, and within seconds of listening to their music, you’ll know why. The band’s sound is a perfect combination of huge, refreshingly melodic vocal hooks, hard-hitting instrumentation, and something most bands seriously lack these days: a ton of heart. The brand new video for their latest single, “Kids,” is a wonderfully nostalgic trip down memory lane and further serves as rock solid proof that The Trophy Fire are bringing something extra special to the table. We’re honored to once again be working with the folks at Greyday Records, the band’s long time home base, to bring you this indie gem.

Since the band’s inception in 2008, the trio, led by Ben Flanagan (vocals/guitar) and rounded out by siblings John Schuman (drums, vocals) and Adam Schuman (guitar, vocals), have been hard at work bringing their music to the masses. Five years in the game and they’ve released three well-received studio albums, have toured with seriously popular bands, Balance And Composure, Dredg, The Dear Hunter, and Ozma, and have received a ton of critical acclaim. The band’s previous video, for their single, “Spinning,” premiered on Virgin.com’s Red Room, was added into regular rotation at Much Music, and was added to MTV Canada and MTVHive.com, to name a few highlights.

The band’s new Paul Aspuria-directed video for “Kids” connects with viewers on a deep level, vividly bringing back those wonderful long-lost feelings of total freedom we all once had during our youth. “The video represents losing ourselves in our youth. In the video you see a bunch of adults playing a game; a sort of dodgeball/capture the flag game with colored powder,” says Flanagan of the video. “We wanted to show the recklessness many of us once had. It’s a recklessness a lot of us yearn for but can be so hard to obtain in our adulthood.”

The Trophy Fire aspires for world domination, and with every new release, that goal appears more and more achievable.
