The parties are churning around LA. Stars are out dancing. Rabid fans are out shrieking on the streets. It’s that time of year again. The MTV Music Awards will occur tomorrow night, and millions of people who can’t go to the glitzy parties will be glued to their TV sets.

The headlining names are, well, what the headliners usually are at these things–such as but not limited to Britney Spears and The Jonas Brothers. Same with the nominees. But MTV did dole out a few early wins to the people who worked behind the scenes. Only their ideas, not their faces, regularly visit your TV screen. And they certainly don’t make The Enquirer.

Wyatt Troll won an early Best Cinematography VMA for the White Stripes’ “Conquest.” Gnarls Barkley’s “Run” won Best Choreography. And Best Editing went to Ahn and Jeff Buchanan for Deathcab’s “I Will Possess Your Heart.” Also, SoMe and Jonas & François, who did Kanye West’s video “Good Life,” won for Best Special Effects.
