Maximum Hedrum

HIP Video Promo presents a fresh new video from the magnificent, yet contemporary rock/electronic band known as Maximum Hedrum. With a unique sound that blends technology and indie inspired elements, the band has hit its peak. Critically acclaimed and award winning directors Spike Jonze, Ty Evans, and Cory Weincheque have collaborated to introduce Maximum Hedrum’s second video for “Synthesize.”

Maximum Hedrum is the new project of producer, director, and composer DJ Sam Spiegel and Sepultura vocalist Derrick Green. The band’s unique electronic-funk amalgam features Spiegel, Green, and renowned German musician and producer Harold Faltermeyer. Their songs are mixtures of contemporary music that can be compared to the likes of Devo, meeting the classic vocals and elements of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath along the way. However, Maximum Hedrum’s ambiguous synthesizers and electronica techniques are what make them stand out as this year’s best new modern rock band.

The forthcoming self-titled album is out now via Spectrophonic Sound and examines ideas revolving around the nature in which our lives are currently changing throughout advancements in technology and the Internet. Maximum Hedrum hit the stage hard at this year’s SXSW tour, appearing at the Last Call with Carson Daly showcase, and plan to excite and reinvent the contemporary music scene. Their second music video “Synthesize” displays the energetic feel of this musical creation, and features scenes from the skate film Pretty Sweet.

As the sultry sounds of “Synthesize” rock the speakers, scenes of modern skaters battle the concrete in this energetic video clip. Directors Spike Jonze, Ty Evans, and Cory Weincheque have created a video that is rich and entertaining, all the while expressing the ideas and revelations of Maximum Hedrum’s music. Lyrics such as “Obvious as it may seem / in dreams we find that / life’s our own design” powerfully enlighten and awaken ideas about the world in which we currently live. From startling realizations to calm interludes of expression, “Synthesize” transforms the modern music scene and creates an eclectic, yet electrifying way of expressing the positive ways in which society must conform.
