Why is consistency important to build your career + community? Jerry Bryant answers on HIP To The Scene #5

Greetings everyone! It’s Andy Gesner welcoming you to HIP To The Scene. Our guest for Episode 5 is none other than the irrepressible Jerry Bryant of JBTV (JBTVonline.com / YouTube.com/user/jbtvonline) to answer the question: “Why is consistency so important to building your career, brand, and community?”

Longevity is a rare thing in any business. In the music industry, it’s practically unheard of. Continuing relevance requires a combination of vision and flexibility. Any outfit that can do that for a few years has something to brag about. If a business can keep its balance – and keep growing! – for 37 years, that’s a remarkable accomplishment. Some might even call it legendary. Since 1984, TV programmer and music aficionado Jerry Bryant has been introducing the world to some of the best creatives in the world, long before they became household names. As the founder and host of JBTV in Chicago, Jerry has created a platform and live stage where the cream of the crop can be heard and seen internationally by tens of millions.

JBTV is more than just a music show; it’s an experience. Jerry’s charming, encouraging, relentlessly positive personality is the reason JBTV has become the international phenomenon it is now. Throughout the years, Jerry has introduced us to some of the most iconic artists in the world, like Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Arctic Monkeys, and even BTS. Without his help and JBTV, who knows where the countless musicians he’s championed might be. He goes against the grain and advocates for artists that commercial radio stations and MTV won’t dare to touch. Jerry and I have been friends for over 20 years, and I’m so excited to have him as our esteemed guest on HIP To The Scene to answer the question: Why is consistency so important to building your career, brand, and community?
